Bournemouth Lower Gardens

Bournemouth Lower Gardens follow the path of the small River Bourne from The Square in the town centre down to Pier Approach by the beach. It makes for a very pleasant 7 minute walk at any time of the year and there’s nearly always something going.

In the Summer the gardens look particularly attractive and the parks are full of visitors having picnics or relaxing. Pines Walk offers shelter from the sun and is a fun place to feed the squirrels. There are plenty of park benches along the edge of the river.

Facilities in the Gardens include several ice-cream and take-away kiosks, toilets, a band stand where sometimes you’ll hear live music and free outdoor concerts. There’s a mini-golf course, an aviary and outdoor art exhibitions. In the winter the park nearest to The Square is home to a large ice rink bar and The Christmas Tree Wonderland changes the walk through the gardens into a stunning trail of Christmas trees which attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Another view of the gardens but this time at Christmas when the path through the gardens becomes a stunning trail of Christmas trees – obviously looks better at night 🙂 https://christmastreewonderland.co.uk
