Wimborne Minster is a beautiful, historic market town in South West Dorset and is also the name of the church that dominates the town. The town is more frequently referred to as Wimborne. It is located at the point where the River Allen joins the much larger River Stour and is the perfect place for relaxing riverside walks.

The River Allen

The River Allen flows to the east of the town centre and there are several bridges from where you can appreciate its clear waters and abundant wildlife. The river is known as a classic chalk stream which supports a good fishery for brown trout which can often be seen from the bridges or river banks.
