Flaghead Chine Beach

Flaghead Chine Beach is a lovely beach with golden sands and gently sloping access to the water. It’s only a 5 minute walk from Sandbanks yet it’s much quieter and therefore popular with locals. In fact this was the beach that my parents always brought us to when I was a kid and we lived 8 miles away. We’d meet a lot of our neighbours here as well so it must be good.

One of the reasons that this beach is quiet is because there’s no car park nearby and access to the beach is via a 10 minute walk down Flaghead Chine path (Google map of top of path). Free on-road parking can be found in some of the residential side roads around the top of the path including Canford Crescent (BH13 7NB) or Nairn Road (BH13 7NG).

Beach facilities include toilets, an ice-cream kiosk and drinking water taps but little else. There are no lifeguards patrolling this beach.

Toilets can be found at the bottom of the chine path. These toilets are open only during the summer season and closed during the winter. This area has recently been landscaped and looks much better.
