The Sculpture Park

Visitors can explore at their own pace along well-maintained pathways that wind through the gardens. While it is possible to walk around in under an hour, most visitors choose to spend two or three hours enjoying the scenery, discovering new sculptures and relaxing beside the lakes.

Botanic Gardens and Wildlife
Although best known for its sculptures, the gardens themselves are an important part of the experience. Sculpture by the Lakes is recognised as an accredited botanic garden and is home to more than 1,000 trees and shrubs, including a number of rare and threatened species. Since opening in 2007, the former fishing lakes have been transformed into an attractive landscape combining contemporary sculpture with ornamental gardens and plant conservation.
Walking through the grounds, visitors will find a variety of habitats including lakes, streams, woodland, meadows and colourful borders that change throughout the year. The peaceful setting also attracts an abundance of wildlife. The Makers Yard

The Pantry serves freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes and hot drinks, with many dishes using seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in the site’s own kitchen garden. The menu changes throughout the year depending on what is in season.

Free parking is available on site, and advance online booking is recommended, particularly during the main spring and summer season when visitor numbers are highest.
