The Tank Museum is a unique collection of over 300 tanks and military vehicles from over 26 different countries and is widely regarded as the best in the world. The museum has 6 large halls and tells the story of armoured warfare from World War One to the present day. This story is helped along using plenty of interactive displays and activities.

Closed 24, 25 & 26 December plus a few other dates during the year (see website)
Allow around 4-5 hours for your visit
In the spring and summer holidays there are daily displays of tanks in action outdoors in the arena. You can also take a ride in an M548 tracked vehicle. Check their website for a list of special events and exhibitions as there is always a lot going on.
Facilities include a restaurant, cafe, shop, toilets and free parking.

Get a Virtual Tour For Free: The Tank museum has worked with Google to offer a free Street View tour of part of the museum. This allows virtual visitors to “walk” around the vehicles and artefacts on display. On a mobile you will probably need to use the Google Earth app to obtain Street View. On a laptop or desktop you should be able to use just Google Maps.
